West Ham endured a challenging period under Julen Lopetegui, ultimately parting ways with the manager and appointing former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter as his replacement.

Palhinha is now attracting renewed interest from several Premier League clubs, including West Ham and his former club Fulham.

Manchester United and Arsenal have also previously shown interest in the Portuguese midfielder.

According to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Potter is keen to bring Palhinha to West Ham.

However, financial constraints mean the Hammers may need to offload players before they can make significant signings.

Bailey also mentioned that Fulham remain in contact and that a potential loan move to Craven Cottage could be on the cards.

“I do know that Fulham have kept in touch — I guess that was part of their agreement when he left,” Bailey told TBR Football.

“Potter would love him at West Ham, but they’re facing financial issues and must sell first. Given Palhinha’s current wages, a permanent deal would be difficult.

But I think he’s one to watch. I don’t see him going anywhere outside of London. A Fulham loan? I wouldn’t rule it out.”

Last summer, Arsenal made a strong push for Palhinha, but he chose Bayern over a move to the Emirates.

While Arsenal may not have regrets—especially with Declan Rice thriving—Palhinha’s form in Germany has been underwhelming.

Still, opinions vary. Former Manchester United winger Nani previously claimed that Palhinha is a better player than Rice.

Speaking on talkSPORT’s TikTok, Nani picked his compatriot when asked to choose between the two while comparing Portugal and England squads.

Now 29, Palhinha is being linked with a Premier League return, and many will be watching closely to see if he can rediscover the form he displayed so impressive at Fulham.
