What Next: Broncos Set to Meet with QB Michael Penix Ahead of Draft

Michael Penix Jr. confirmed that he will be visiting the Denver Broncos for a pre-draft visit, as mentioned in his recent interview with ESPN’s Brady Henderson. According to Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette, this visit is scheduled to take place later this week.

The Broncos have already had a meeting with Penix during the NFL combine, and they showed significant interest by sending key personnel to his pro day last week, including their pass game coordinator, college director, and two scouts. With the 12th overall pick in the draft, Denver is in a position to select Penix, who is projected to be available at that point.

In addition to the Broncos, Penix has visits lined up with several other teams, including the New York Giants (No. 6), Atlanta Falcons (No. 8), Las Vegas Raiders (No. 13), and Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 20). However, it seems unlikely that he will be drafted within the top half of the first round. In our most recent mock draft for the Broncos, we foresee them trading down to secure Penix early in the second round.

The 2024 NFL draft is scheduled to take place in Detroit from April 25-27.
