Former Ibrox striker Billy Dodds believes the Belgian is now under “huge pressure,” with mounting concerns over both league and cup performances.

Dodds said: “His future is back in doubt. He seems confident in his post-match interviews that he will keep his job, but this result won’t help him.

You can’t be knocked out of the cup, be 13 points behind Celtic in the league, and have lost the League Cup to your biggest rivals without consequences. This will put enormous pressure on him.”

Rangers Unlikely to Sack Clement Just Yet

However, former defender Ricky Foster believes Clement may still have time to turn things around, even if serious questions are now being asked about the team’s direction.

When asked if Clement will keep his job, Foster responded: “I think he does, at least for now. No one wants to see managers lose their jobs, and I believe he will hold on, but the pressure is real.”

He continued: “Just when it looks like Rangers are building momentum and heading toward a revival, something like this happens.

Nothing as severe as today’s result has occurred before, and that makes it especially damaging.”

With the club’s season hanging in the balance, all eyes are now on Stewart and the Rangers board as they decide whether to stand by Clement or make a change.
