Ryan Taylor reports that Isaac Schmidt has been granted permission to undergo a medical with Leeds United.

The Daily Mirror journalist reported on X (30 August) that FC St. Gallen, a historic Swiss club, has allowed 24-year-old Isaac Schmidt to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed transfer to Leeds United.

It appears that Elland Road will be bustling with activity as the transfer window approaches its deadline at 11 pm on Friday (30 August).

Manager Daniel Farke is eager to make some last-minute additions to strengthen his squad for another promotion push.

After narrowly missing out on promotion last season, Farke is determined to lead Leeds back to the Premier League in his second season in charge.

To achieve this, he needs a strong and versatile squad. Adding Schmidt, who is primarily a full-back but can also play in wide positions and as a defensive midfielder, would be a significant boost.

Given that several key players have left the club this summer, a versatile player like Schmidt could be particularly valuable.

Although Schmidt has been granted permission to undergo a medical, time is running out for Leeds to finalize the deal.

Fans will be hoping that the club can secure his signing before the transfer window closes.
