Wolves are reportedly demanding around £40m for Strand Larsen, despite turning down a bid close to £60m from Newcastle last summer.

While his current form may not immediately impress – he has scored just once in 18 league appearances this season – Wolves’ struggles as a team provide important context.

Strand Larsen scored 14 Premier League goals from 10.27 expected goals during the 2024/25 season, underlining his proven top-flight quality.

Only nine players scored more than him last term, while Beto managed eight goals in 30 appearances. Neither Beto nor Barry has ever surpassed 11 league goals in a single season.

Those numbers suggest Everton should not expect a dramatic upturn from their current options.

By contrast, Strand Larsen’s recent record in Spain and England, along with seven assists across the last two full seasons, highlights his broader attacking contribution.

Described as a “proper number nine”, the 25-year-old’s experience and pedigree could make him Moyes’ leading striker, potentially ending Barry and Beto’s roles as regular starters.

For Everton, pushing hard for his signature before the window closes could be a decisive move.
