David Moyes will not have left Turf Moor satisfied, as Everton were unable to turn pressure into points despite testing Martin Dúbravka on six occasions and creating enough chances to win.
The stalemate with Burnley meant the Toffees missed an opportunity to move upward in the Premier League standings, something the manager would have demanded against opponents rooted in 19th place.
There were encouraging spells in Everton’s play, particularly in terms of effort and territory, but Moyes will feel his side should have been far more ruthless.
Matches against teams fighting relegation are often decisive, and failure to take advantage only increases frustration around the club.
Once again, attention centred on Beto, whose difficult spell on Merseyside shows little sign of easing.
The Guinea-Bissau international has now started eight league games this season, while also making ten substitute appearances, yet he has managed to score only once.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, the visit of Burnley represented a clear audition for the 27-year-old.
