BOMBSHELL EXCLUSIVE: Aston Villa Ready to Sell Their Next Superstar for a Huge Fee — But the Shocking Buy-Back Clause Could Change EVERYTHING and Leave Fans FURIOUS!

Aston Villa willing to consider offers for highly-rated defender Triston Rowe this summer

Aston Villa youngster Triston Rowe is attracting growing interest from several Championship and European clubs ahead of a potential move this summer.

The 19-year-old right-back has reportedly caught the attention of a number of clubs following an encouraging spell in France last season.

However, sources indicate that Villa could look to protect their long-term interests by including a buy-back clause in any agreement for the academy graduate.

Rowe has been involved regularly during Aston Villa’s pre-season preparations under manager Unai Emery.

The young defender also featured in their recent clash with Bayern Munich, coming off the bench during Villa’s 2-1 defeat on Friday.

The right-back spent the entire 2025-26 season on loan with FC Annecy in Ligue 2, making 32 appearances across all competitions and scoring once.

His performances contributed to a respectable campaign for the French club, who finished seventh in the league and narrowly missed out on a place in the promotion playoffs.

How good is Triston Rowe?

Rowe enjoyed a promising campaign at Annecy, with his defensive contributions standing out in particular.

He helped the French side record eight clean sheets in the 30 Ligue 2 matches he played.

According to FotMob data on August 11, the teenager averaged 2.03 tackles, 0.99 interceptions, 4.81 recoveries and 2.07 clearances per 90 minutes, while contributing 0.32 clean sheets per 90.

His attacking numbers were also encouraging for a young full-back. Rowe averaged 0.08 assists, 0.10 expected assists, 0.72 chances created and 0.28 big chances created per 90 minutes.

He also averaged 0.68 successful crosses, recording an overall cross-success rate of 21%.

Given his age, defensive reliability and ability to contribute in the final third, it is understandable that several clubs are monitoring his situation.

A move away from Villa could provide him with further first-team experience, while a buy-back clause would allow Emery’s side to retain the option of bringing him back in the future.

Aston Villa also pursuing Joao Palhinha

Elsewhere, Football Insider reports that Aston Villa are leading the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha this summer.

The Portugal international is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, but Villa are reportedly working on a loan deal.

Palhinha is believed to favour a move to Villa Park because of the opportunity to play Champions League football.

He spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, helping them avoid relegation.
