BOMBSHELL EXCLUSIVE: Leeds United just made a jaw-dropping decision on signing that Wolves star… and fans are already losing their minds!

Leeds United unlikely to revive interest in Wolves star Santiago Bueno

Santiago Bueno’s Wolves Future Gets Boost as Leeds Turn Attention Elsewhere

Santiago Bueno has recently been linked with a move away from Molineux, with reports suggesting the 27-year-old defender is interested in returning to the Premier League.

Leeds United were among the clubs strongly connected with the centre-back earlier this summer following Wolves’ relegation to the Championship.

Daniel Farke’s side initially showed significant interest in Bueno as they looked to strengthen their defence for the new campaign.

However, Leeds have now seemingly shifted their attention towards Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi, who is reportedly regarded as the club’s “top target”.

The Switzerland international has apparently already agreed personal terms with Leeds ahead of a potential transfer.

That development could be excellent news for Wolves, who will be keen to retain one of their most important players as they attempt to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Bueno was one of the few Wolves players to emerge from last season with his reputation enhanced.

Despite the club finishing bottom of the Premier League, the defender enjoyed a strong individual campaign and was named the club’s Player of the Season.

His importance could become even greater in the Championship, particularly with concerns surrounding Wolves’ defensive consistency.

Although they secured a 3-0 victory over Port Vale last week, the Old Gold still looked vulnerable at the back and could arguably have conceded more than once.

With promotion now the primary objective, Wolves will need experienced and dependable defenders, making Bueno a player they will be desperate to keep.

Leeds’ apparent decision to pursue Elvedi instead could therefore provide a significant boost to their plans.

Meanwhile, Wolves are also reportedly exploring a move for Jordan James. The Rennes midfielder impressed while on loan at Leicester City last season, despite the Foxes suffering relegation.

His performances earned him the Championship Young Player of the Season award and have attracted interest from several clubs.

Wolves are said to be stepping up their pursuit of the Wales international as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.

However, it remains uncertain whether they can reach an agreement and complete a deal for James before the window closes.
