BOMBSHELL: Newcastle About to Steal a TRUE World-Class Superstar in a RECORD-SHATTERING Deal That Will DESTROY the Premier League Forever!

Newcastle United remain active in the transfer market as they continue reshaping their squad following a difficult start to the summer window.

The Magpies have already sanctioned the departures of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, club captain Bruno Guimaraes is also attracting significant attention from Premier League champions Arsenal after reportedly informing Newcastle of his desire to move on.

Despite those high-profile exits, Eddie Howe has begun rebuilding his squad with the arrivals of Ewen Jaouen, Bazoumana Toure, Seun Steur and Aladji Bamba.

However, strengthening the defence has now become another key objective, with the club revisiting its long-standing interest in one of Serie A’s brightest talents.

According to reports from Tutto Atalanta, Newcastle have renewed their pursuit of Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini ahead of the new campaign.

The 22-year-old defender has been regarded as one of Italy’s most promising prospects for several seasons and is widely viewed as a player with world-class potential.

After overcoming injury setbacks, Scalvini has re-established himself as an influential figure in Atalanta’s back line, with his composed displays continuing to attract interest from clubs across Europe.

Newcastle see the Italian international as an ideal addition to increase competition in central defence alongside Malick Thiaw, Sven Botman, Dan Burn and Fabian Schar.

His age, quality and long-term potential make him an appealing target as Howe looks to build a younger and stronger defensive unit.

Atalanta’s financial situation could also work in Newcastle’s favour.

The Serie A side had hoped to raise funds through the sale of midfielder Ederson, but his proposed transfer to Manchester United failed to materialise.

As a result, the Italian club may now have to consider offers for other valuable assets.

Although Atalanta are reluctant to lose Scalvini, reports suggest a bid in the region of €45m (£38.4m) could be enough to prompt serious discussions.

That represents a significant shift from previous transfer windows when the club rejected all approaches for the defender.

Improving the back line has become a priority for Newcastle after an underwhelming 2025/26 campaign.

Defensive frailties proved costly throughout the season, while ongoing fitness concerns surrounding Botman have highlighted the need for additional cover.

Furthermore, experienced defenders Fabian Schar and Dan Burn are both approaching the latter stages of their careers.

Signing a young, high-calibre defender such as Scalvini would not only strengthen Newcastle’s immediate options but also provide the club with a cornerstone for the future as Howe aims to restore the Magpies to the Premier League’s leading contenders.
