BREAKING: Crystal Palace STEAL Newcastle’s DREAM TARGET in INSANE LATE-NIGHT DONE DEAL – Eagles Fans LOSING THEIR MINDS! One of Newcastle’s most wanted players is about to pull on the red and blue… and the Magpies never saw it coming.

Crystal Palace move ahead of Newcastle United in race for Anan Khalaili

Crystal Palace have reportedly won the race to sign Israeli international Anan Khalaili after his proposed move to Inter Milan collapsed following a failed medical.

Khalaili’s future became uncertain earlier this summer when his father confirmed on July 10 that both Crystal Palace and Newcastle United had made approaches for the player.

However, the 22-year-old initially preferred a move to Inter Milan and appeared close to joining the Serie A champions.

The transfer eventually broke down after Inter’s medical examination raised concerns over an irregularity in Khalaili’s heart rhythm.

As a result, the Italian club decided against completing the deal, forcing the versatile defender to return to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

The collapse of the Inter transfer subsequently reopened the door for several clubs interested in the player.

Sport Witness later reported claims from Belgium suggesting that Newcastle and Crystal Palace had another opportunity to pursue Khalaili following the failed medical.

It now appears that Crystal Palace have taken advantage of the situation and reached an agreement to bring the Israeli to Selhurst Park.

According to Israeli outlet Sport 5, the transfer is effectively a done deal, with Khalaili expected to join Crystal Palace in the coming days.

Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws has also reported that the player is “on his way” to London, with the Eagles reportedly prepared to pay around €30 million for his services.

Khalaili is capable of playing as a right-back, right wing-back or winger, making his versatility an attractive quality for Palace.

During the previous campaign, he primarily operated as a right wing-back and produced an impressive six goals and six assists in 52 appearances.

His performances attracted attention from several clubs across Europe, with Newcastle among those monitoring his development.

However, Crystal Palace now appear to have won the competition, potentially helped by their participation in the Europa League.

Khalaili was notably absent from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise’s squad for their weekend victory over KVC Westerlo, with the Belgian club citing a fitness issue.

Union Saint-Gilloise are due to travel to face FK Bodø/Glimt in Champions League qualifying on Tuesday, but it remains unclear whether Khalaili will make the trip or instead travel to England to complete his move to Crystal Palace.

The transfer represents a major opportunity for Palace to strengthen their squad with a young, versatile player who has already demonstrated his attacking qualities.
