BREAKING: Emery’s LATE-NIGHT EMOTIONAL PHONE CALL MELTS PLAYER’S HEART — He AGREES to Join Aston Villa in SHOCKING TWIST That Will ROCK the Premier League! Fabrizio Romano just dropped the bomb… and football will NEVER be the same.

Aston Villa have identified Leon Goretzka as the experienced midfielder they need to complete a major rebuild of their engine room this summer.
Unai Emery has already invested heavily in midfield, bringing in João Gomes and Johan Manzambi after losing several key players.
Youri Tielemans joined Manchester United, while Morgan Rogers moved to Chelsea in a huge deal.

Rogers’ departure also removed an important source of ball carrying and creativity between midfield and attack.
Villa suffered another major setback when Amadou Onana suffered an ACL injury at the World Cup, ruling him out for a lengthy period.

Although Boubacar Kamara and John McGinn remain valuable options, Villa’s return to the Champions League means Emery needs greater depth and different profiles in midfield.
The club previously explored a move for João Palhinha, but the Portuguese midfielder chose Benfica.
Their search has now reportedly ended with Goretzka, who has agreed to join Villa as a free agent after leaving Bayern Munich.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 31-year-old is expected to undergo his medical next week.
Emery reportedly played a major role in convincing Goretzka to make the move following a direct phone call.
Goretzka brings significant experience, having spent eight successful years at Bayern and won 15 trophies, including the Champions League in 2020.

His arrival would provide valuable leadership to a midfield containing several younger players.
Unlike Tielemans, Goretzka is not primarily a tempo-setting passer. Instead, he offers physicality, pressing, powerful forward runs and a threat when arriving late in the penalty area.

His ability to compete for second balls could also help Villa maintain pressure after winning possession.
He could operate effectively alongside a more defensive midfielder such as Kamara or Gomes, allowing him to push forward without leaving the team exposed.
Villa will need to manage his workload carefully at 31, and he would be better suited to a midfield partnership than a lone holding role.
If he completes his medical successfully, Goretzka could give Villa the physical presence, leadership and European experience their rebuilt midfield has been missing—without costing them a transfer fee.
