SHOCK CLAIM: 49ers secretly plotting £43m Leeds raid for “UNTOuchable” superstar who’s LIGHT-YEARS better than Brandt — fans left SPEECHLESS

Leeds United Could Turn Julian Brandt Setback Into Positive

Leeds United have suffered a transfer setback after Julian Brandt was officially unveiled as Ajax’s latest signing on Friday.

The Whites had reportedly made a strong attempt to convince the experienced attacking midfielder to move to Elland Road, with claims earlier in the week suggesting they had the best offer available for the free agent.

However, Brandt ultimately chose Ajax over a move to the Premier League. The 30-year-old became a free agent in July following the expiration of his contract with Borussia Dortmund, giving him the opportunity to carefully consider his next destination.

While missing out on Brandt is disappointing, Leeds could eventually benefit from the decision.

The Germany international has considerable experience, having made more than 300 Bundesliga appearances and contributed 11 goals across competitions for Dortmund last season.

He could have provided Daniel Farke with an experienced attacking option capable of making an immediate impact.

However, his age means there would have been limited long-term value in the deal.

Having turned 30 in May, Brandt is entering the later stages of his career and would not offer the same potential for development or future resale value as a younger player.

Leeds could now focus their attention on Marseille winger Igor Paixao, who has reportedly emerged as one of their alternatives.

According to reports, the 49ers are assessing several attacking targets, with the Brazilian among the players being considered. Marseille could demand at least £43 million for the 26-year-old.

Paixao was previously a Leeds target when he was at Feyenoord last summer, but he eventually joined Marseille. Leeds could now make another attempt to secure his services.

The winger could prove to be a more valuable addition than Brandt.

Over the last two seasons, Paixao has registered 50 goal contributions in 89 appearances for Feyenoord and Marseille, compared with Brandt’s 13 fewer contributions in 91 games for Dortmund.

He also scored 12 goals for Marseille last season.

At 26, Paixao has significantly more time to develop and potentially increase his market value.

His pace, creativity and goal contributions could also give Leeds a greater attacking threat in the Premier League.

Therefore, while losing Brandt is a blow, Leeds may have an opportunity to replace him with a younger and potentially more impactful player.

The next step is for the 49ers to open negotiations with Marseille and attempt to bring Paixao to Elland Road before the transfer window closes.
