YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS: Leeds about to smash the club transfer record for an English superstar who could be their BIGGEST talent since Raphinha… and it’s happening RIGHT NOW

Leeds United are continuing to show real ambition in the transfer market as they prepare for the 2026/27 season, with the club determined to build a squad capable of challenging for European qualification.
Daniel Farke’s side have already strengthened significantly this summer.
Following Pascal Struijk’s £20m move to Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds reinvested heavily by signing defender Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo for £34m.

Harry Wilson has also arrived on a free transfer after an impressive Premier League campaign with Fulham, while discussions remain ongoing over a deal for former Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt.
Leeds’ recruitment strategy mirrors the approach that brought Raphinha to Elland Road in 2020.
Signed from Rennes for £17m, the Brazilian initially arrived with modest Ligue 1 statistics but flourished under Marcelo Bielsa.

The Argentine’s tactical system unlocked his attacking qualities, helping Raphinha develop into one of the Premier League’s standout wingers.
Across two seasons, Raphinha scored 17 league goals and created 23 big chances before securing a club-record £55m move to Barcelona in 2022.
His rise remains one of Leeds’ greatest transfer success stories and serves as a blueprint for the club’s current recruitment.

Leeds now appear close to completing another statement signing. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford is expected to join before the transfer window closes in a deal worth up to £45m.
If completed, it would surpass the club’s previous transfer record set by Georginio Rutter and become Leeds’ biggest signing ever.
The report also claims Trafford is negotiating a release clause that would allow him to move to an elite club in the future should the opportunity arise.
The sizeable investment reflects Leeds’ belief that the 23-year-old can become one of English football’s top goalkeepers.
Despite limited opportunities at Manchester City due to Gianluigi Donnarumma’s presence, Trafford impressed whenever called upon, particularly in domestic cup competitions.
He reportedly saved more than 80% of shots faced across 12 appearances while outperforming expected goals metrics.
Memorable displays included a penalty save against Liverpool, crucial interventions in the League Cup final against Arsenal and another clean sheet in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
With Karl Darlow enduring a difficult league campaign last season, Trafford could provide a significant upgrade between the posts.
Leeds believe regular first-team football could help him fulfil his enormous potential, much like Raphinha did at Elland Road before earning a lucrative move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
