£10 million Leeds United star reportedly nearing departure

The absences of Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev have posed significant challenges for Leeds manager Daniel Farke, but Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have fortunately stepped up in their place.

Further complicating matters, Leeds lost Max Wober to injury, followed by another blow when Largie Ramazani, who had helped ignite Leeds’ quick start against Watford by scoring an early goal in their 2-1 victory, sustained an ankle injury and had to leave the field.

Scans later confirmed he would miss the next four to six weeks, a setback that is already being felt, as evidenced by Leeds’ recent 0-0 draw with Bristol City, which saw them lose ground on Championship leaders Sunderland.

Adding to the injury concerns, Leeds right-back Rasmus Kristensen, currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, has suffered a “serious” muscle injury.

Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller expressed regret over the situation, telling Sport Witness, “Rasmus will be out for now. It’s a muscular injury.

I’m annoyed with myself. I seriously considered leaving him out before the game, as he’s been consistently playing, including for his national team.”

Meanwhile, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Kristensen is likely to make a permanent exit from the club at the season’s end.

Speaking with MOT Leeds News, Robinson stated, “The sooner Leeds get the money and his wages off the books, the better.

He’s surplus to requirements, which is why he’s out on loan.

His wages are covered, and there’s potential for a transfer fee. When players are loaned out, unless they’re young prospects, it often signals the end.”

Robinson also highlighted that Kristensen’s departure could benefit Leeds financially, particularly given Financial Fair Play and Profitability and Sustainability regulations.

Moving him off the wage bill in January would be advantageous for the club, and it appears increasingly likely that Kristensen will make a permanent move to Frankfurt.
