“Possibility”: Sean Dyche hints £16m player could be in line for a position change at Everton

Sean Dyche seems to have stabilized Everton’s form, as the team has now put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

However, one player who won’t be available for Saturday’s game is Nathan Patterson, who remains in recovery at Everton’s training center.

One reporter asked Dyche if Patterson, who joined Everton for £16 million, could follow in Seamus Coleman’s footsteps by shifting to a more advanced right-wing role.
Dyche responded, “I think the open-mindedness about player positions has evolved because they’re often brought in at a young age.
Personally, I don’t believe in limiting a player to just one position. A player can often succeed in multiple roles.”
Addressing Patterson specifically, he added, “I see him primarily as a right-back.
Maybe he could adapt to the right side further up, but it would take time for him to fully develop in that role.”
Everton needs a right-wing upgrade over Jack Harrison Last weekend’s draw highlighted Jack Harrison’s struggles to make an impact against Fulham, leading to his early substitution in the second half.
Dyche has noted improvements in some areas, with new signing Iliman Ndiaye already impressing fans since his arrival.
However, the right-wing position remains a concern, as Harrison has yet to contribute a goal or assist in any of his 11 appearances.
While it’s unclear if Patterson could fill this gap, Everton clearly needs more from Harrison, who is currently on loan from Leeds United, if they hope to strengthen their attacking options onthe right side.
