Ricardo Pereira has returned to Leicester City’s starting XI for the first time in over five months, one of three changes for their clash against Liverpool.

The Portuguese right-back replaces James Justin, making his first start since the 1-1 draw with Ipswich in early November. Pereira had been gradually building up minutes following a serious hamstring injury.

In defence, Wout Faes returns to the lineup, pushing last week’s goalscorer Caleb Okoli to the bench.

Although manager Ruud van Nistelrooy praised Okoli’s passion, the young Italian also made several errant passes that gifted Brighton opportunities, potentially influencing his omission.

On the right wing, Bobby De Cordova-Reid comes in for Kasey McAteer.

The switch is somewhat unexpected after McAteer earned plaudits for his performance at Brighton in his first start since December.

However, his absence from the bench suggests he may have suffered a knock.

De Cordova-Reid, meanwhile, makes his first start since the defeat to West Ham in February.

His goal against Brighton in December remains Leicester’s last home Premier League goal, with the team failing to score in eight consecutive home matches since.

Luke Thomas retains his spot at left-back, with Victor Kristiansen again named among the substitutes.

Conor Coady, Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumare, Bilal El Khannouss, and Jamie Vardy all keep their places in the starting eleven.

Jeremy Monga returns to the bench after missing out last week due to injury.

Among those not included in the squad are Kasey McAteer, Woyo Coulibaly, Jannik Vestergaard, Harry Winks, Odsonne Edouard, Jake Evans, and Bade Aluko.
