Leeds have previously been linked with Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic, who has expressed interest in a move this summer. In a recent statement, Krstovic hinted at a potential exit:
“I am thinking about the next matches with the national team, then I will talk to the people closest to me and decide what is best for me. At the moment, I am closer to leaving the club.”
A transfer could be on the cards, with the 25-year-old Montenegro international valued at around £25 million.
He played a crucial role in keeping Lecce afloat in Serie A last season, scoring 12 league goals. Now, it appears the door may be open for a potential deal.
Lecce’s sporting director Pantaleo Corvino addressed the possibility of player sales in his end-of-season press conference, stating:
“We are a healthy club. If no one asks to leave, we don’t sell. In January, we had offers for him that could’ve helped our project.
But we’re stable financially, so unless a player wants to go, we don’t push him out. If a player asks to be sold, we try to accommodate that.”
This could represent a real opportunity for Leeds. Although Krstovic has only been loosely linked and may not be a top target, his numbers are impressive.
He contributed 18 of Lecce’s 27 total goals—a testament to his importance and leadership in the final third.
That level of influence, particularly in a struggling side, shows his grit and ability to shoulder attacking responsibility—qualities Leeds might desperately need in the top flight.
