Report: Spurs Among Four Premier League Clubs Eyeing French Talent as ‘Bidding War’ Commences

Tottenham Hotspur Eyeing New Winger This Summer Amid Competition from Major European Clubs

According to HITC, the bidding war for Désiré Doué has begun, with Tottenham needing to fend off significant competition to sign the young Frenchman this summer.

The report states that Doué’s future will be decided in the “coming weeks,” with Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle among his Premier League suitors. Bayern Munich have already made their first offer for the 19-year-old, which was rejected, and PSG are also in the hunt.

Bayern made the “first move” for Doué, but their £29m offer fell short of Rennes’ valuation, closer to £42m “in the current market.” PSG are reportedly “pushing hard” to sign the winger and are ready to “rival” the German giants.

Rennes are also said to be “in talks with a number of Premier League sides,” with Spurs among the teams hoping to “join the bidding” for Doué. The player is believed to be open to a move to the Premier League if a “suitable enough offer” comes in this summer.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Spurs would push ahead with a move for Doué after Bayern Munich’s failed attempt to sign the Rennes star (L’Equipe). According to The Sun, Spurs will also need to beat Chelsea and Manchester United to secure Doué, as the teenage star becomes one of the most coveted players in Europe.
