According to a report from the Sunday Mirror (11 August, page 74), Everton are among the clubs interested in Stade Reims midfielder Amir Richardson.
The Toffees could face competition from Premier League rivals Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur for the 22-year-old central midfielder, known for his physical presence and excellent interceptions.
Richardson is reportedly available for a relatively modest fee of around £8 million.
The deep-lying playmaker shone during the 2024 Olympic tournament for Morocco and has garnered attention from several European clubs, drawing comparisons to Paul Pogba.
Why Everton Are Unlikely to Sign Him This Summer
Richardson made a significant impression for Reims last season, and multiple clubs are vying for his signature.
While he has a “huge ceiling” and has already proven himself in one of Europe’s top leagues, securing his move to Goodison Park would be a considerable challenge for Everton.
He has already agreed to join Fiorentina, but The Mirror suggests that his stay in Florence might not be long-term.
Although other clubs might still have a chance, a move to the Premier League for Richardson this summer appears highly unlikely.
