Chelsea Could Secure ‘Outstanding’ Star for Half the Initial Price Estimated
Chelsea Could Acquire 'Outstanding' Leeds United Star Crysencio Summerville for Nearly Half the Initially Estimated Price

Leeds face significant risk of losing key players following their dramatic failure to secure promotion to the Premier League from the Championship.
They concluded the 2023-24 Championship season with a record 90 points, the highest total ever for a team not promoted automatically.
Numerous clubs are now eyeing opportunities from Leeds’ setback, particularly regarding Dutch winger Summerville. Earlier reports in May suggested Chelsea were considering a £30 million move for him.
Summerville, 22, impressed with 19 goals and nine assists in 43 Championship appearances last season, earning him the Player of the Season accolade in the second tier.
Now, fresh reports from Foot Mercato indicate Chelsea may secure Summerville for around €20 million (£16.8 million), significantly less than the previously rumored £30 million price tag.
With Chelsea recently alleviating financial pressures through sales like Ian Maatsen, Michael Golding, and Jamie Cumming, they now have flexibility to pursue their targets. The timing, following the passing of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules deadline, allows Chelsea a year to rebalance their financial books.
In stark contrast, Leeds find themselves vulnerable after their defeat in the Championship playoff final to Southampton.
Summerville, highly praised by manager Daniel Farke as “an outstanding creative player,” may be the next high-profile departure from the club.
