This summer, Leicester City targeted players like Wilfried Zaha from Champions League side Galatasaray and Bundesliga champion Adam Hlozek from Bayer Leverkusen.
Unfortunately, neither deal materialized, leaving the team with limited attacking options, especially given the injuries to Patson Daka and Jamie Vardy.
The primary focus for Leicester City should be on acquiring attacking players for the remainder of the summer.
However, an intriguing opportunity has arisen with the availability of a former Foxes player, Ben Chilwell, who was released by former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca.
Securing Chilwell would be a significant statement for Steve Cooper’s side.
Leicester City should consider a loan move for Ben Chilwell. The former Leicester City full-back is available for transfer from Chelsea after Maresca indicated that Chilwell is struggling to find his place with the Blues, according to Fabrizio Romano on X.
Maresca suggested that Chilwell would benefit from leaving Chelsea to gain more playing time, opening the door for a potential loan move to Leicester.
Although Chilwell’s wages may be high, Leicester City could negotiate a deal where they pay a percentage of his salary while guaranteeing him game time at the Premier League level.
This arrangement could make the move feasible.
If Leicester City manages to sign Ben Chilwell, their full-back options would be significantly strengthened.
Chilwell would join a defensive lineup that includes James Justin, who can play on either side, Ricardo Pereira, and Victor Kristiansen.
Meanwhile, Luke Thomas is likely to move on after struggling during loan spells at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough last season.
