Ange Postecoglou Asserts Tottenham Hotspur Would Have Beaten Newcastle United on a "Fair and Even Playing Field"
Spurs were missing 10 first-team players due to injuries, illness, and suspensions, but they still managed to take an early lead in the third minute when Dominic Solanke scored with a header from Pedro Porro’s cross.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his frustration in the post-match press conference, saying, “I thought they were outstanding and I’m incredibly angry, probably the angriest I’ve ever been in my career. We were denied the rewards for a fantastic performance.”
He added, “I’m shattered that the players didn’t get what they deserved because we were brilliant.
Our football was excellent. Yes, Newcastle are a good team in great form, but we were exceptional.
We deserved to win, and on another day, we would have won.”
Postecoglou continued, “I know what people want me to say, but all I will say is that, on another day, with a fair and equal playing field, we would have won.
Simple as that. Don’t keep asking me about the decision.
If you have no opinion, that’s fine, but I know what mine is. As I said, if the conditions had been different, we would have won that game.”
He praised his players for their efforts, highlighting their resilience, saying, “Everyone was great, unbelievable.
Radu and Archie literally got off sick beds to play today, and Radu was exhausted at half-time.
I couldn’t be prouder of them, but I’m angry and disappointed that it wasn’t football that stopped them from getting the rewards they deserved.”
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, when asked about Postecoglou’s comments, appeared to disagree: “I just have to focus on us and Newcastle. I’m very proud of the players’ efforts.
I thought we were dominant in the first half, and it could have been more.
Tottenham played well in the second half, especially after they brought on some quality players, but we did enough to get the win.”
