Exclusive: Tottenham Negotiating £2m Deal for Teenage Sensation

St Patrick’s Athletic Open to £2 Million Offer for Tottenham Target Mason Melia, Sources Reveal

Tottenham submitted a bid for Mason Melia earlier this season [via Reptracker via X, 15 October].

However, as reported by The Sun (8 January), the £1 million offer was rejected by St Patrick’s Athletic.

Celtic have now entered the race for the 17-year-old, with Tottenham keen to secure a deal during the current transfer window to fend off competition.

Due to Brexit regulations, Melia wouldn’t be able to officially join Spurs until January 2026.

According to a source close to Tottenham’s youth setup, St Patrick’s Athletic is open to accepting a £2 million offer for the teenager.

While this is a significant fee for a young player, Tottenham has demonstrated a willingness to invest in promising talent, as seen with Luka Vušković.

Scouting reports on Melia have reportedly impressed Tottenham’s recruitment team, who view him as a valuable addition to their future squad. Spurs are hopeful they can finalize the deal soon.

However, this signing might have little immediate relevance to current manager Ange Postecoglou, who may not remain at the club by the time Melia is eligible to join.

Regardless, Tottenham’s long-term plans suggest the next manager will inherit a strong group of talented youngsters, including Melia, if the deal goes through.
