“‘Everyone Will Want Him’ – Former Leeds United Star Predicts Future for ‘Frightening’ Elland Road Talent”

Former Leeds United star and Thorp Arch academy graduate Aaron Lennon has offered high praise for rising talent Harry Gray.

The 16-year-old Elland Road prospect is the latest in his renowned footballing family to generate excitement and is tipped for a bright future.

Harry Gray, who turned 16 this month, has already drawn comparisons to his older brother Archie, who made a high-profile move from Leeds to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Archie’s transfer was seen as both a significant and bittersweet moment for Leeds, as the young midfielder left for a Premier League club after attracting widespread attention.

Lennon, currently working toward his UEFA B coaching license, spent time last season with Leeds United, getting closely involved with the club’s youth setup at Thorp Arch.

During this period, the 37-year-old became acquainted with several of Leeds’ promising talents, including Harry Gray, who caught Lennon’s attention with his performance during pre-season, particularly in a match against Harrogate Town.

Reflecting on his time working with Gray, Lennon spoke highly of the youngster in a talkSPORT interview.

“I was working back at Leeds last season and he is ridiculous. He’s frightening.

He’s a number 10, number nine. Honestly, he has got all kinds,” Lennon said.

“I don’t want to talk about him too much because I think everyone will want him, he’s that good. He’s probably the best thing I’ve seen in years.”

Harry has been making waves similar to his brother Archie, shining in Leeds’ U18 squad during the 2023/24 season.

His impressive stats, including eight goals in 11 U18 Premier League appearances, average out to a goal every 102 minutes.

Gray has also been involved with the U21 team, and his performances have caught the attention of Leeds’ senior team manager, Daniel Farke.

Archie Gray, now with Tottenham Hotspur, made his move in July after multiple clubs expressed interest in him.

During his time at Leeds, Archie played a vital role in their push for promotion, appearing in all but two Championship matches.

Since joining Tottenham, Archie has mostly been used as a substitute in the Premier League, but he has started in every Europa League and Carabao Cup match this season.

His versatility continues to stand out, as he has played in various positions, including center-back, right-back, and midfield.

In a recent interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Archie spoke about his former Leeds teammates and shared his thoughts on his younger brother’s potential.

He expressed confidence in Harry’s future, saying, “I’d love for him to do it.

It would obviously be amazing for him to break my record.

But like I said, he just needs to keep working hard, and then hopefully it’ll come.”
