Justin Jefferson Discusses Contract Status with Vikings

Justin Jefferson, during his appearance on Radio Row in Las Vegas ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday, made headlines with his remarks about his contract situation.

Speaking with Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio, Schein expressed his desire for Jefferson to secure a lucrative deal, to which Jefferson responded enthusiastically, saying, “I’m right there with you. I want to break the bank and I want to be a part of an organization that values me and is willing to compensate me accordingly. I believe that eventually, the Vikings will take the necessary steps to keep me on board. However, at this moment, I can’t say for certain.”

Jefferson expressed confidence in the team handling his contract negotiations but remained non-committal about his future with the Vikings if a deal isn’t reached.

Drafted in the first round by the Vikings in 2020, Jefferson has completed four years of his rookie contract. While the Vikings exercised their $19.7 million player option for Jefferson in 2024, no contract extension has been finalized yet.

Despite missing seven games this season, Jefferson led the NFL in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809) in 2022. With 5,899 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns in his career, the 24-year-old wide receiver has demonstrated his value on the field.
