After fans declared Lamar victorious in the Drake beef, he is reportedly celebrating in his hometown. According to reports from the Wall Street Journal and AllHipHop, Lamar is set to purchase a $40 million house in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles.
The 16,000-square-foot property was previously owned by a trust connected to Viet Dinh, a former chief legal and policy officer for the Fox Corporation. Lamar would be paying more than double the amount paid by the previous owners in 2019, which was $19.5 million.
After Kendrick Lamar’s Brooklyn apartment was mentioned in Drake’s “Family Matters” as a jab during their feud, there were also rumors regarding his partner Whitney Alford’s involvement, suggesting she may have moved there as well based on Instagram posts.
However, it’s unclear who will be moving into their new home, as Lamar and Alford keep their personal lives private. Despite their complex relationship, albums like “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” depict their relationship as supportive and caring.
Drake’s Toronto home was also brought up in the feud, notably on the “Not Like Us” cover art, where Lamar featured his house with Photoshopped child sex offender pins.
Unfortunately, the home was recently targeted in a shooting in the Bridle Path neighborhood, leaving one security guard injured. The motive behind the shooting remains unconfirmed, making it futile to speculate on its connection to the rap battle.
Regardless, it appears Kendrick Lamar has a new home to enjoy in Los Angeles as his West Coast anthem continues to dominate. Whether this signifies the end of the Drake beef remains uncertain, but time will tell if any further subliminal messages are exchanged between the two.
