Jack Harrison Wants Everton Stay Beyond Loan Deal
Winger Jack Harrison is nearing the end of his second season on loan at Everton from Leeds United.
His spell at the club has been underwhelming, and unless a new agreement is reached, he will return to his parent club in the summer.
Harrison has expressed frustration over his performances this season but remains keen on being part of Everton’s future as they transition to their new stadium.
“On a personal level, it’s been difficult and frustrating this season because I always want to be at my best,” Harrison told the Liverpool Echo (20/03).
“When you’re doing everything you can, but it’s still not coming off, it can be really frustrating—for me and for the fans.”
He acknowledged that this has been the first significant period in his career where he has struggled to contribute, having failed to score regularly or provide assists as he has in the past.
However, despite his struggles, he remains enthusiastic about Everton’s direction:
“I think with new ownership, a new manager, and moving to an incredible new stadium, this is where I want to be.
It would be exciting to be part of the bigger picture—helping a club go from where we have been to competing for European football and, eventually, silverware.”
He added, “With Everton’s size and the passion of the fans, there’s no reason why the club can’t achieve that, and who wouldn’t want to be part of it?”
Despite Harrison’s clear desire to stay, Everton have a major decision to make regarding his future.
Everton Should Not Re-Sign Jack Harrison
Leeds United are currently leading the Championship and are strong contenders for promotion back to the Premier League.
Even if they return to the top flight, they may be willing to listen to offers for Harrison.
A permanent deal for the winger could be relatively straightforward, but Everton should look to move on.
Although Moyes has regularly included him in the squad, Harrison’s performances have not justified another signing.
He has managed just one goal and zero assists in 29 appearances across all competitions, a return far below what Everton need from an attacking player.
With the club prioritizing a permanent deal for Carlos Alcaraz, upgrading their wing options should be a focus.
Everton must seek a player who can contribute more effectively in the final third.
A younger, more dynamic winger would be a better long-term investment, offering greater impact and consistency than Harrison.
Unless there is a dramatic improvement in his form, this should be his final spell at Goodison Park.
