Media reports claim Tottenham have landed a ‘generational talent’ amid growing excitement.

Tottenham Hotspur have a bright prospect in their ranks.

The club’s recruitment team has been actively scouting young talent across Europe, with players like Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray already making a strong impression in the first team this season.

While Spurs fans have had the opportunity to see Bergvall and Gray in action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they haven’t had the same chance with Luka Vuskovic.

Signed by Tottenham from Croatian side Hajduk Split in September 2023, Vuskovic, just 16 at the time, won’t be able to officially join the club until February 2025 when he turns 18.

Currently, Vuskovic is on loan at Belgian club Westerlo, where he is playing alongside fellow Spurs midfielder Alfie Devine.

Despite his young age, the teenage defender is already turning heads with his performances.

Croatian media have taken notice of Vuskovic’s impressive start to the season.

The Croatian newspaper Večernji List described him as a talent “born once in a hundred years.”

In their October 6, 2024 edition, they praised his excellent form, noting that the 17-year-old has become a key starter in Westerlo’s three-man defense.

Vuskovic has featured in all of Westerlo’s games this season, contributing an impressive four goals and one assist from his center-back position in just ten matches.

One standout performance came in a 2-2 draw with Beerschot, where Vuskovic scored both goals for his team.

Beyond the goals, his all-around performance was remarkable, with seven shots, seven out of eight duels won, 100 touches, and several key defensive contributions, including three successful sliding tackles that stopped dangerous counterattacks.

He also completed eight out of twelve long passes, showcasing his versatility.

Despite his success in Belgium, it’s clear that Vuskovic will need more time and experience to fully adapt to Tottenham and the Premier League.

While his loan spell at Westerlo is proving beneficial, he may require additional loan stints within England before he’s ready to step into Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven currently forming a strong defensive partnership at Tottenham, Vuskovic, along with fellow academy talent Alfie Dorrington, could be groomed as long-term replacements.

If either of Tottenham’s current defenders were to leave in the coming years, Vuskovic and Dorrington might become crucial figures in the club’s future defense plans, especially if Spurs are unable to meet their top players’ ambitions for success and trophies.
