Rangers’ transfer business may be over, but exits from Ibrox remain possible
Clinton Nsiala’s time at Rangers looks set to end, with several clubs circling for his signature.
Belgian sides Anderlecht, Zulte Waregem, and KV Mechelen are all keen on the 21-year-old defender, whose future has been pushed into further doubt following the arrival of Derek Cornelius at Ibrox.
Nsiala has slipped down the pecking order and is now attracting fresh attention from outside Belgium.
Reports suggest one particularly ambitious European club is eager to secure his services, with a potential move to Poland beginning to take shape.
According to UEFA reporter Piotr Kozminski, writing for Goal Poland, Polish outfit Pogon Szczecin—who recently brought in Sam Greenwood from Leeds United—are monitoring the French centre-back closely.
“Pogoń are actively searching for a left-footed centre-half, and their trail has led them to Glasgow Rangers,” the report explained.
“Our information shows Clinton Nsiala is firmly on their radar. He began his career at FC Nantes before moving to Milan, where he represented the U19 and U20 sides, reaching the latter stages of the UEFA Youth League.”
Since his pre-contract move to Rangers ahead of the 2024/25 season, Nsiala has managed only 13 appearances in all competitions.
Now, with interest mounting from both Belgium and Poland, his departure before the 8 September transfer deadline looks increasingly likely.
That view was strengthened further after Russell Martin announced his 24-man Europa League squad, with Nsiala notably absent.
Rangers, who have also raised ticket prices for their Europa fixtures, seem prepared for life without him.
His omission is widely seen as a clear indication that the club expects him to move on before the Belgian and Polish windows close.
Martin himself is under mounting pressure after a turbulent start to life as Rangers manager. The Europa League campaign could prove pivotal to his future, with supporters demanding progress on the European stage.
For Nsiala, though, the focus now appears to be on securing a fresh start abroad, with Pogon Szczecin and several Belgian sides vying to give him the opportunity to revive his career.
