“Report: Lopetegui Could Be Sacked by West Ham Within 10 Days”

"Julen Lopetegui Facing Potential Dismissal as West Ham Weigh Immediate Action"

A report on The Guardian’s website (20 November) revealed that West Ham have been using the international break to explore replacements for Julen Lopetegui, who was appointed in the summer as David Moyes’ successor.

Journalist Jacob Steinberg noted that Lopetegui’s future could depend heavily on the Hammers’ next two games—against Newcastle United on Monday (25 November) and Arsenal the following Saturday (30 November).

A poor result in the first match might compel the club to act sooner.

The decision to part ways with Moyes was met with mixed reactions from fans.

While many believed it was time to move on despite Moyes’ success at the London Stadium, Lopetegui’s appointment raised eyebrows.

His resume includes stints at Real Madrid, Spain, and Sevilla, but for some, his hiring didn’t seem like an upgrade or a shift away from the pragmatic football Moyes favored.

West Ham invested heavily during the summer transfer window, creating high expectations.

However, a lackluster start to the season sees them languishing in 14th place, putting the manager under immense pressure to deliver results.

The situation feels urgent, with the club needing to correct what appears to be a significant misstep.

Lopetegui’s tenure seems precarious, and unless results improve immediately, his time at West Ham may soon come to an end.
