A January loan move looks essential, ideally to another Premier League side where he can gain valuable minutes without competing directly with Iliman Ndiaye or Jack Grealish for a starting berth.
Such a move could accelerate his adaptation to top-flight standards ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Moyes’ mixed summer recruitment
Moyes brought in nine players during the summer, and the early signs are mixed. While there have been positives—Grealish has already proven to be a success—others, such as Barry, have struggled to make any real impact.
Some may still need more time to adjust to the system, but at present, there are several who look like potential flops from Moyes’ ambitious spending spree.
