Exclusive: Major Update on Bryan Cristante’s Potential Everton Move Today

Everton Unlikely to Secure Roma Star Bryan Cristante in January Transfer Window, Sources Reveal

Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke highlighted the importance of 29-year-old Bryan Cristante to Roma’s efforts to salvage their season after a poor start.

Roma currently sit 12th in the Serie A table, having managed just three wins from their opening 13 matches, a disappointing run that led to Ivan Juric’s dismissal on November 10.

The club is now focused on improving their form in the season’s second half and sees retaining their key players as vital to achieving this goal.

Cristante, a versatile defensive midfielder who can also operate as a center-back, has been ever-present for Roma this season, appearing in all 13 league games and four of their five Europa League fixtures.

His consistency and adaptability make him a crucial part of the team’s plans.

Meanwhile, Everton, under the anticipated ownership of Dan Friedkin—who is expected to finalize his takeover at Goodison Park before the year’s end—are also planning January reinforcements.

Friedkin’s links to Roma have sparked speculation about potential transfers, including Cristante, given his time at Roma under the Friedkin Group’s ownership.

However, a move for Cristante now appears unlikely, with Roma intent on keeping their key players.

Everton, struggling after a similarly challenging start to their campaign, have won just two of their first 12 Premier League matches.

To address their issues, the club has prioritized signing a new striker, as reported by Football Insider on November 26.

However, their scouting team is evaluating reinforcements across all positions as they prepare for the upcoming transfer window.

With the takeover expected to bring renewed investment, Everton is optimistic about bolstering their squad in January.

Though Cristante seems out of reach, the Friedkin connection has reportedly broadened Everton’s transfer prospects, opening doors to other potential targets who could strengthen the team.
