Ruud van Nistelrooy stands firm as he acknowledges Leicester City’s need to ‘reset’

Ruud van Nistelrooy has pledged to remain true to himself despite Leicester City’s struggles in the Premier League.

The Foxes are on the brink of relegation, sitting 19th in the table, nine points from safety with just nine matches remaining.

Their situation worsened after a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at the King Power Stadium before the international break, making them the first top-flight team to lose seven consecutive home games without scoring.

When asked how he maintains confidence, Van Nistelrooy emphasized the importance of perseverance.

“It’s crucial to keep going and believe in what you’re doing,” he said. “I’ll stay myself. I won’t change as a person or a coach.

Our approach, what we aim to achieve on the training pitch and in matches, remains the same.

We’re making adjustments and trying everything possible to turn things around. That’s my job, and I’ll continue doing it.”

Leicester will return to action against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on April 2. Van Nistelrooy views the international break as an opportunity to reset before their crucial final stretch.

“The players are working hard and doing everything they can,” he added.

“Those not on international duty need time to reset, while others will represent their countries and hopefully return fresh and fit.”
