Expert: Everton Engages in Internal Discussions Over Sensational Star Return

Everton are considering a move to bring Richarlison back to Merseyside, according to former Manchester United and Tottenham scout Mick Brown.

Brown, who remains well-connected in the football world, told Football Insider that the Toffees have a strong interest in re-signing the 27-year-old forward.

Manager David Moyes is expected to consult his coaching staff—many of whom have previously worked with Richarlison—before deciding whether a reunion would be beneficial for the club.

Reports also suggest that Richarlison regrets leaving Everton in 2022 when he made a £60 million switch to Tottenham Hotspur.

Football Insider first revealed in January that Richarlison is keen on leaving Spurs, with a strong desire to join the Saudi Pro League.

That interest remains, but Everton could present an appealing alternative, given his status as a fan favorite at Goodison Park.

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson also told Football Insider last month that Richarlison wants to exit the North London club and that a return to Everton is a real possibility.

Tottenham Open to Selling Richarlison

In February, Brown revealed that Spurs are willing to sell Richarlison for the right price, as he is not part of manager Ange Postecoglou’s long-term plans.

Brown, who worked closely with Moyes at West Ham and has extensive experience in player recruitment, believes Richarlison could be a valuable addition under Moyes’ leadership at Everton.

“I’ve never been the biggest fan of Richarlison, if I’m honest,” Brown admitted to Football Insider.

“But he’s always been a firecracker on the pitch, and he scores important goals, which would benefit Everton.”

Brown also acknowledged that Richarlison’s time at Tottenham has been challenging and that a departure now seems likely.

“Everton know him inside out, and part of him probably wishes he never left,” he added.

Moyes is expected to carefully evaluate the situation, consulting his staff—many of whom have worked with Richarlison in the past—before making a decision.

However, competition from the Saudi Pro League, which can offer significantly higher wages, could complicate Everton’s chances of securing the forward’s return.

Everton Planning Summer Spending Spree

Everton are actively preparing for the summer transfer window and are determined to back Moyes with new signings across multiple positions.

Strengthening the attack is a priority, with a new striker high on the agenda amid strong interest in Richarlison.

Additionally, Moyes is looking to bolster the squad’s depth by signing new wingers.

Brown previously stated that Everton are on the hunt for a player similar to Iliman Ndiaye, as Moyes seeks to inject more creativity and flair into his squad.

Meanwhile, Jack Harrison is expected to leave Everton at the end of the season, and the club is already planning to replace him to ensure they have sufficient attacking options.
