Everton’s hopes of landing an England international in January have gathered momentum, with reports suggesting that a potential move could materialize as the club looks to address its ongoing attacking problems.

The 29-year-old England striker has been linked with a Premier League return, and Storey believes a move to Goodison Park could be ideal.
“The answer – what about Ivan Toney in January?” Storey wrote. “West Ham are very keen, but if I were Toney, I’d be excited about playing with the likes of Grealish and getting a late push for a World Cup place next summer.”
Toney’s ambitions of making England’s 2026 World Cup squad would undoubtedly be boosted by a return to top-flight English football, especially given the lower competitive level of the Saudi league.
Pep Guardiola has previously hailed the former Brentford man, saying, “He’s so dangerous — a master at using his body, great at link-up play, and one of the best finishers I’ve seen.”
For Everton, Toney would not only replicate Beto’s physical presence but offer a much sharper goal threat.
