Chief correspondent Graeme Bailey reports that Sullivan has now set a firm ultimatum: Potter will be granted only two more matches to salvage his position as West Ham head coach.
The statistics are already damning. Potter currently possesses a worse win percentage in the Premier League than former Hammers bosses Julen Lopetegui and Gianfranco Zola, with no obvious signs of progress.
Unless he can spark a turnaround quickly, Sullivan could make a managerial change sooner rather than later.

These two matches will be pivotal, coming just before the September international break. Should results not improve, that pause in the calendar would present Sullivan with the ideal window to bring in a replacement without immediate fixture pressure.
Back in January, when he was first unveiled as West Ham manager, Potter spoke passionately about the importance of enjoyment both on the pitch and in the stands.
“I think if you ask most supporters, they would say they want to be entertained, and I think that’s the case at West Ham with all the Club’s history and tradition,” he said at the time.
“Enjoyment is important, and I think if the players are enjoying themselves, that can help transmit enjoyment to the terraces.”
Unfortunately, the reality has been very different. Some observers believe Potter hasn’t been adequately backed in the transfer market to fully realise his vision.
Even so, Sullivan’s greatest concern remains whether Potter can maximise the talent already at his disposal. For now, the next two matches could determine his fate.
