The Dane received a red card from referee Kavanagh on 23 November after he planted his leg into Pickford’s while stretching for an Ethan Pinnock pass he couldn’t quite reach.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (24 November, 08:40 am), Tony Cascarino shared his perspective on the incident.

“No, I don’t think it is [a red card],” Cascarino said.

“Any manager would be frustrated if a player didn’t try to get his foot on the ball, knowing he had a chance to score.

“And accidentally—because it is accidental—Pickford comes rushing out of his goal.

He’s always ready to throw himself into challenges, as he did with Van Dijk.

“You can’t referee like that. It’s infuriating how penalties and red cards have become so overblown. The game is too soft.”

Everton Missed an Opportunity Against 10-Man Brentford

From the 41st minute of the match, Everton had the numerical advantage after Brentford went down to 10 men.
