Steve Cooper teases potential Manchester United breakthrough with an exciting “it’s coming” remark.

Steve Cooper has hinted at a potential rise in prominence for Boubakary Soumare as the Leicester City midfielder aims to turn moments of brilliance into consistent performances.

Cooper praised Soumare’s contribution to City’s equaliser at Ipswich, calling it “amazing.”

The Frenchman tracked back to win possession, powered through an opponent, and then laid the ball off for Jordan Ayew to score.

This display marked a second consecutive impressive outing for the 25-year-old, following a strong performance in the cup defeat to Manchester United the previous week.

Throughout his time at Leicester, Soumare has often impressed with flashes of quality, only to struggle with consistency.

Despite his £17m transfer from Lille more than three years ago, many supporters still consider him a disappointment.

However, Cooper has suggested that the midfielder could have a bright future at the club.

There are even rumors that Soumare may earn his first Premier League start of the season when Leicester face Manchester United this Sunday.

Cooper discussed Soumare’s impact at Ipswich, saying, “It was a big impact. It’s coming. Maybe the less said the better really.

We see what he has. It’s good that he showed it this week.

I’m pleased for him, he deserves it.” Soumare’s main challenges since joining City have been lapses in concentration when defending and a lack of consistency.

That said, he received positive reviews for his performances during a loan spell at Sevilla last season, with Cooper noting that he had watched some of Soumare’s La Liga displays before his arrival at Leicester.

Cooper emphasized that the key for Soumare is being ready to seize opportunities when they arise.

Over the past two games, Soumare has done just that, and it could put him in contention for a starting spot when Leicester visit Old Trafford on Sunday.

Cooper explained, “You do your due diligence and Bouba wasn’t here last season, so in prep for coming in, the games I watched were him at Sevilla.

You’ve also got to deal with what you see. His opportunities, like a few in the squad, have been few and far between.

All players can do really is what Bouba did last Wednesday and take opportunities when they’re given them.

If they do that in training and in games, then more opportunities come their way and that’s how you get yourself into teams and stay in teams.”

Cooper added that Soumare is very much part of the squad and has been for some time. “He’s obviously not a new face to the guys. He’s been registered here for a few years.

We’re enjoying working with him, we’ll continue to work with him. It’s a good example of what can happen if you stay ready for your opportunities.”
