West Ham are actively seeking a striker to lead their attack, and AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham is a top target.
According to Calciomercato, the Hammers have made a €30 million offer to bring the English international back to the Premier League.
Abraham, who developed at Chelsea, struggled to secure a key role and moved to AS Roma in the summer of 2021 for around €40 million.
He enjoyed a stellar debut season in Italy, scoring 27 goals and providing five assists. However, his form has declined due to injuries, and his tenure at Roma appears to be ending.
Roma, having bolstered their attack with new signings like Matias Soulé and Artem Dovbyk, are open to selling Abraham. While West Ham is interested, they are hesitant to meet Abraham’s €4.5 million net annual salary.
Instead, they are exploring ways to persuade him to join despite competition from AC Milan, who offer Champions League football.
West Ham’s current forward options include the aging Michail Antonio, who is dealing with knee issues, and Danny Ings, who is not favored by manager Julen Lopetegui as the primary striker.
With this in mind, West Ham is making a strong push to bring Abraham back to England.
Their €30 million offer presents a chance for Roma to recover some of their investment, but West Ham must work hard to convince Abraham to make the move.
