Rangers star’s agent in talks with German clubs despite player’s strong commitment to Ibrox.

Ianis Hagi has dismissed rumours about his potential departure from Rangers, especially in the wake of their 2-2 Scottish Premiership draw with Aberdeen.

Despite ongoing speculation, the Romanian midfielder reaffirmed his commitment to the Glasgow club as the end of the season approaches.

However, while Hagi appears open to continued talks with Rangers, reports suggest his agent is actively engaged in discussions with two top Bundesliga sides, indicating that a move away from Ibrox could be on the cards.

The 26-year-old remains a player in high demand as his contract nears its expiration, drawing attention from across Europe.

Former Romanian striker Adrian Ilie, who is closely following Hagi’s situation, believes that the player is more likely to part ways with Rangers than stay.

He also revealed that negotiations are underway with German clubs Borussia Monchengladbach and Hoffenheim.

“I’ve spoken with Ianis Hagi’s agent,” Ilie told the Scottish Sun.

“There have been conversations about him potentially staying in Glasgow, but in my opinion, a departure is more probable.

His agent has been speaking with several clubs, and there’s real interest from two Bundesliga teams, especially since he could leave on a free transfer.”

Ilie further elaborated, saying, “The teams in question are Hoffenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Discussions have already started. Hagi is a talented player with excellent technical ability, and the fact that he won’t cost a transfer fee makes him even more attractive.”

While there were past links to a possible move to Turkey—specifically to Fenerbahce—Ilie suggested that Turkish clubs may now be targeting players of a higher calibre and spending significantly on transfers, which could shift focus away from Hagi.

Meanwhile, Hagi made his position clear following his impactful performance against Aberdeen.

Coming off the bench, he scored a dramatic last-minute equaliser, underlining his value to the Rangers squad and sending a timely reminder of his abilities.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Hagi addressed the swirling rumours surrounding his future.

“I understand the speculation because my contract is winding down, but I need to clear something up,” he said. “I never said I wanted to leave Rangers. That’s just not true.”

Hagi continued, “I want to make it totally clear how much I love this football club. Everyone knows how happy I am here. I’ve always given everything for Rangers and will continue to do so.”

As the season heads toward its conclusion, Hagi’s future remains uncertain, but both his comments and those from his agent suggest multiple paths are being considered.
