EXCLUSIVE BOMBSHELL: Rangers Launch Shock Talks to Hijack the League’s UNSTOPPABLE Dynamic GOD! He’s One of the BEST Players on the Planet – This Changes EVERYTHING!

Rangers have stepped up their search for defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season, with reports suggesting the club has begun discussions over a move for highly-rated Hammarby full-back Hampus Skoglund.

The Ibrox side endured a frustrating 2025/26 campaign, finishing third in the Scottish Premiership and failing to make a significant impact in Europe after exiting the Europa League during the league phase.

A trophyless season has increased the pressure on manager Danny Röhl to strengthen key areas of his squad this summer.

One position that appears to be a major focus is right-back, particularly following the departure of long-serving captain James Tavernier.

Replacing the experienced defender is understood to be one of Röhl’s main objectives as he looks to reshape the team and restore Rangers’ competitiveness at home and abroad.

Skoglund has emerged as a serious candidate for the role. The Swedish defender has earned a strong reputation in his homeland, with many observers praising his energy, attacking quality and overall effectiveness from full-back.

His performances for Hammarby have attracted attention from several clubs, and Rangers are now among those keen to secure his signature.

Having already strengthened their attacking options with the addition of Lawrence Shankland, the Glasgow club are now concentrating on reinforcing the back line.

Alongside Tavernier’s exit, Rangers have also seen loan defenders Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius leave, creating a greater need for defensive recruitment.

According to reports, Rangers have already opened talks with Skoglund’s representatives and have held multiple meetings in recent weeks.

The discussions indicate that the Scottish giants are serious about pursuing a deal and are exploring the possibility of bringing the defender to Ibrox before the transfer window closes.

Although Skoglund signed a new contract with Hammarby last year that runs until 2029, Rangers remain optimistic that an agreement can be reached.

The player has also hinted that he would welcome a move abroad, previously describing transfer speculation involving foreign clubs as “fun,” suggesting he is open to a new challenge.

Strengthening the full-back positions is becoming increasingly important for Rangers.

With Max Aarons returning to his parent club following the conclusion of his loan spell and Tavernier departing, Dujon Sterling is currently the only natural right-back available.

However, Sterling’s recurring injury problems raise concerns over whether he can be relied upon throughout an entire campaign.

Röhl’s recruitment during the January transfer window delivered encouraging results, particularly with the arrival of Tuur Rommens, who has impressed since joining the club.

If Rangers can secure a deal for Skoglund and achieve a similar level of success, it could prove to be another shrewd piece of business and an important step in strengthening the squad ahead of the new season.
