The veteran defender noted that he’s trying not to dwell too much on the situation and is taking a relaxed approach. “I try not to think about it too much. I’m quite relaxed, but maybe that’s just who I am.

I can be very emotional, but I’ll save that for when there’s certainty, which I don’t have right now,” he added.

Balogun also expressed confidence in his ability to continue performing at a high level despite his age. “Without sounding arrogant, age is just a number,” he said.

“I’ve looked after myself throughout my career, and that’s why I can still play at this level. If I felt I was struggling, I’d be honest about it—but I don’t feel that way at all.”

With the club preparing for a potential overhaul under new management and ownership, there is speculation that several out-of-contract players, including Balogun, could be released to make way for fresh faces.

However, there is a strong argument for keeping Balogun, particularly if he is content with a backup role, similar to the one he has filled this season.

Balogun’s leadership and experience could be invaluable during this transitional phase for Rangers.

Many supporters would prefer to see him remain at Ibrox, especially over other options like Robin Propper, who has failed to impress during his time with the club.
