Rangers face uncertainty over Hamza Igamane as Miovski emerges as potential replacement

Glasgow Rangers head coach Russell Martin has revealed that Hamza Igamane declined to come on against St Mirren, claiming he was unfit to play. Speaking after the 1-1 draw, Martin explained:

The North Macedonia international joined Girona last summer from Aberdeen for £6.8m but has since fallen out of favour, starting just 12 league games and scoring twice in LaLiga.

Martin is a long-term admirer, having attempted to sign him during his managerial spells in England and Wales.

Rangers are keen to bring him to Ibrox, but financial constraints mean a permanent deal is unlikely. Instead, a loan move is considered the most realistic route, with Miovski reportedly open to a return to Scotland.

Rangers currently have Danilo, Cyriel Dessers, and Igamane in their attacking ranks. Given Martin’s preference for systems that often deploy just one striker, the club is unlikely to add another centre-forward unless one leaves.

Considering the St Mirren incident, Martin’s candid comments, and external interest in Igamane, the Moroccan may be the forward sacrificed to make way for Miovski.
