“Harry Kane Hasn’t Proven His Worth Yet: ‘He Wasn’t Brought in to Score Hat-Tricks Against Darmstadt'”

Following Bayern Munich’s recent defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League, there has been hesitance to place blame on coach Vincent Kompany, with Manuel Neuer emphasizing that the loss wasn’t his fault.

Consequently, scrutiny has shifted to Harry Kane and the significant transfer fee Bayern paid Tottenham Hotspur for him.

Bayern acquired Kane for over €100 million, a price tag that has been justified by his remarkable goal-scoring ability in his first season.

During his last season with Tottenham, Kane netted 32 goals, but he outdid himself at Bayern, scoring an impressive 44 times.

However, despite his individual success, Bayern failed to secure any trophies, leading to jokes about Kane bringing Tottenham’s infamous trophy drought with him.

In the current season, Kane has scored 10 goals, including a hat-trick against Holstein Kiel and four against Dinamo Zagreb.

Didi Hamann, known for his outspoken criticism, has weighed in on the situation in the German media, particularly concerning Kane’s hefty transfer fee.

He stated, “Harry Kane also had a personally sobering evening in Birmingham—on top of the defeat.

I said after the European Championship this summer that he still has to prove he is worth the €100 million, despite scoring over 30 goals last year.

“He wasn’t brought in to score a hat-trick against Darmstadt.

He was brought in to score against Leverkusen and Aston Villa, and to contribute in the Champions League quarter-finals.

He hasn’t done that yet, and I remain skeptical about the star striker.”
