‘Major Issue’ – talkSPORT pundit warns Everton could be ‘in trouble’ after recent performances

Everton currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, having failed to secure any points from their matches against Brighton, Tottenham, and Bournemouth.

This poor start has put manager Sean Dyche under significant pressure.

Despite the experience within Everton’s squad, former footballer Tony Cascarino has pointed out a “major issue” facing the club.

Speaking on talkSPORT (14 September, 6:58 am), Cascarino highlighted Everton’s defensive woes, saying, “Everton have conceded 10 goals in three Premier League games.

How many games are Everton going to win comfortably? If they win, it’s going to be by the odd goal. I never feel like there’s a 3-0 win in there with Everton.”

Cascarino stressed that although the squad lacks depth, they have players with substantial Premier League experience.

However, he warned that the club is entering a crucial phase with tough fixtures on the horizon, stating, “Going into early December, they have a run of games that, if they’re in trouble, they’re picking up hardly anything in that period.

They must put points on the board pretty quickly after starting so poorly.”

Alarm Bells Ringing at Everton After Poor Start

Some optimistic Everton fans have found small positives in the opening three defeats, particularly in the 3-2 loss to Bournemouth at Goodison Park.

The club made some promising signings over the summer, including Tim Iroegbunam, who has settled well at the club.

However, the overall results have been disheartening.

This poor start has put Dyche’s future at the club under scrutiny.

Despite this, it is reported that Dyche still has the full support of club owner Farhad Moshiri, even after the team has failed to collect any points from a possible nine [Sky Sports].

With difficult matches against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City scheduled for December, Everton must pick up points quickly if they hope to avoid falling deeper into relegation trouble.

While Dyche may be trusted to pull off a miracle, being at the bottom of the league by year’s end would be a dangerous position for the club.
