“Leicester City’s DESPERATE Plea to Snag Josh Brownhill and a 10-Goal Swedish SUPERSTAR – Fans Go WILD!”

Leicester City’s summer transfer business has been minimal so far, with the club securing only one new arrival — veteran goalkeeper Asmir Begović.

 

The 38-year-old joined on a free transfer after leaving Everton, bringing his vast experience to the East Midlands.

 

However, uncertainty still lingers over the club’s immediate future. In May, Leicester were charged with an alleged breach of the EFL’s financial rules, and the possibility of a points deduction remains unresolved.

 

This potential sanction could influence their transfer approach in the closing weeks of the window.

 

With that in mind, FLW’s Leicester City Fan Pundit, Louchlainn Martin, was asked to identify two realistic transfer targets he believes the Foxes should pursue before the September 1 deadline.

 

 

His suggestions cover both midfield and attacking reinforcements, positions where depth could soon become an issue.

Josh Brownhill tipped as an ideal midfield addition

 

Martin’s first recommendation is former Burnley captain Josh Brownhill, who became a free agent in July after leaving Turf Moor following the Clarets’ return to the Premier League.

 

Despite interest from top-flight clubs, Martin is confident Leicester still have a realistic chance of securing his signature.

 

“The first one is Josh Brownhill. Some people might say it’s not realistic because Premier League clubs are after him, but I disagree. He turned down a Premier League contract at Burnley, so I think it’s possible,” Martin explained.

 

His belief isn’t unfounded. Reports from FourFourTwo claim Leicester have already tabled a contract offer to the 29-year-old.

 

For Martin, Brownhill would be a “good, low-risk signing” given his availability on a free, though he acknowledged wages could be a stumbling block.

 

Brownhill’s quality at Championship level is unquestionable. Last season, he was instrumental in Burnley’s promotion push, scoring 18 goals and providing six assists in 42 appearances.

 

His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively would be a welcome boost for Leicester, especially with uncertainty surrounding their current midfield options.

 

“We could lose Harry Winks, we could lose Boubakary Soumaré before the window closes,” Martin added. “If that happens, we’d be very light in midfield. Brownhill is proven at this level and would be a very good fit.”

 

Soumaré, according to Sky Sports Switzerland, was already expected to leave the club at the end of last season, making the need for reinforcement even more pressing.

Jusef Erabi — a bold attacking option

 

Martin’s second suggestion is more of an under-the-radar pick — Swedish striker Jusef Erabi of Hammarby.

 

The 22-year-old forward, described as “a bit of a rogue shout” by Martin, has a strong connection to current Leicester boss Marti Cifuentes, having played under him during the Spaniard’s managerial spell in Sweden.

 

Cifuentes enjoyed a successful period with Hammarby, guiding them to a third-place finish in the Allsvenskan and securing qualification for the Europa Conference League.

 

Martin believes Erabi’s style is a perfect match for the system Cifuentes is looking to implement at Leicester.

 

“He’s a striker who’s worked under Marti Cifuentes before. He’s good with his feet, can drop deep, and rotates positions well — all qualities that suit the way Cifuentes wants to play,” Martin said.

 

Erabi, a Stockholm native, has netted 29 goals in 96 appearances for Hammarby, including four so far this season. His estimated market value ranges between £5 million and £10 million.

 

“If the price is at the higher end, it might be unrealistic,” Martin admitted. “But if we could get him for £5m or £6m, that’s achievable — especially if we make more sales.

 

A striker should be a priority, and with Patson Daka linked with a move away, we’d definitely need another forward if he goes.”

 

Time is running out

 

With the transfer window closing on September 1, Leicester have a narrow window to act on either of these targets.

 

The race for Brownhill could be competitive, but Leicester’s contract offer may put them in a strong position if the player is tempted by a leading role in a promotion push.

 

As for Erabi, reuniting with Cifuentes could appeal to the young striker, but negotiations would need to be swift and financially viable.

 

Either way, Martin’s reasoning highlights the urgent need for Leicester to add to their squad beyond Begović’s arrival.

 

Whether they focus on proven Championship talent like Brownhill or a developing prospect like Erabi, strengthening key areas could be vital for their ambitions this season.
