West Ham eye another Chelsea player alongside Chukwuemeka – report

The Telegraph reported on 5 January that West Ham United is targeting Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka to bolster their midfield in the January transfer window.

While Chukwuemeka has already been linked with the Hammers, GiveMeSport (20 December) suggested they could miss out due to Chelsea’s £40 million asking price.

This transfer window is crucial for manager Julen Lopetegui, who remains under significant pressure at London Stadium, particularly after West Ham’s 4-1 loss to Manchester City on 4 January.

Lopetegui’s recruitment strategy in January may determine his future with the club.

While signing strikers is a priority, given the injuries to Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio, Lopetegui is also keen to reinforce his midfield.

Dewsbury-Hall could be a viable target, as the 26-year-old has made just five substitute appearances for Chelsea this season.
