Lilywhite Rose predicts Postecoglou will make eight changes for Tottenham against Fulham.

Postecoglou alleviated some pressure as Tottenham secured a spot in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday, 13 March.

James Maddison showcased his quality, scoring his 11th goal of the season, while Wilson Odobert netted his first two goals for the club.

This win will undoubtedly boost confidence ahead of their upcoming clash with Fulham.

However, with the Europa League now the priority, several key players are expected to be rested for the Premier League fixture at Craven Cottage on 16 March.

Van de Ven among eight expected changes vs. Fulham

Micky van de Ven is set to be dropped for Tottenham’s match against Fulham, but he won’t be the only first-team regular missing out.

John Wenham, owner of Lilywhite Rose, told Tottenham News exclusively that he expects as many as eight changes to be made.

“The Europa League is now the complete focus,” Wenham stated. “I think Postecoglou could make up to eight changes from the win over AZ Alkmaar.

“It’s going to be a tough game, but if you’d asked any Spurs fan what was more important, they’d say the AZ Alkmaar match.

I expect Ben Davies, Archie Gray, and Destiny Udogie to come in, while Van de Ven will likely drop to the bench.

“Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma should start, along with Brennan Johnson. Mathys Tel will also be pushing for a place in the lineup.”

Spurs must prioritize the Europa League

While Postecoglou won’t publicly admit it, Tottenham’s Premier League campaign is now secondary.

The Europa League is the primary objective, and failure to win the tournament could put Postecoglou’s job in jeopardy.

With Daniel Levy’s expectations high, the Australian manager will undoubtedly put all his focus on securing European silverware.
