The 22-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, allowing Rangers to potentially secure him via a pre-contract agreement, paying only compensation.
However, there are indications the club wants to complete the transfer this month.
CEO Patrick Stewart recently stated that Rangers aim to “accelerate the signing of a player we were already planning to bring in.” This could very well be Cameron.
What Cameron Could Bring to Rangers
Cameron has been a standout performer for Dundee this season, contributing eight goals and seven assists across all competitions.
Dundee currently sits seventh in the Premiership and is chasing European qualification for the first time since 2003.
Scottish football writer Kai Watson believes Cameron “has the potential to play at a higher level than the Scottish Premiership.”
Despite his talent, Cameron has been absent from recent matches, suggesting Dundee manager Tony Docherty may be preparing for his departure.

Former Hibs and Hearts midfielder Michael Stewart described Cameron’s potential move as low-risk financially.
Speaking on Scottish Football Social Club, Stewart emphasized the minimal transfer or compensation fee and modest wages, making this deal a smart piece of business for Rangers if finalized.
