Russell Martin’s position as Rangers manager already looks under serious threat, with growing unrest among supporters after a dreadful start to his tenure.

“He creates chances, gets past people, and excites you,” Ferguson said of the Frenchman.

Gassama’s numbers back up his early promise. He has scored four goals in 13 appearances, all of which came in Champions League qualifiers, while also registering one assist in the Scottish Premiership.

Capable of operating on both flanks, he has impressed with his direct dribbling, speed, and willingness to shoot from distance.

Despite Rangers’ wider struggles in attack, Gassama has been one of the few players able to make things happen on his own.

His strongest performances have come from the left wing, where he can cut inside onto his stronger right foot.

Too often, however, he has been pushed to the right to accommodate Moore, limiting his influence.

Alongside Gassama, Bojan Miovski has shown flashes of quality, though he has suffered from the team’s lack of creativity under Martin.

Both players could benefit from a managerial change if the club decides to act.

With Rangers underperforming at both ends of the pitch, Sunday’s clash away to Livingston has taken on huge importance.

Three points are badly needed, not only to lift the team’s morale but also to ease the growing pressure on Martin’s job.
